Secondary school pupils were
invited to take part in workshops with master stone mason Philip Quinn.
Drawing inspiration from Lismore Castle Arts’ current exhibition by
Rashid Johnson, participants created a series of sculptures inspired by the exhibition.
The Garden Gallery project saw 2 schools - Blackwater Community School, Lismore, and Meánscoil San Nioclás, An Rinn - participate in an intensive project, comprising of school visits, gallery research session and hands on workshops.
These artworks were
presented in Lismore Castle Gardens through the open season alongside
the works of renowned artists Rashid Johnson, Antony Gormley and Richard
Wright. Student’s works were gifted back to the schools and installed in a location of their choosing.
