Lismore Castle Arts was delighted to take part in a Creative Cluster project with five local primary schools. Our project was called Mé Féin agus na Crainn (Myself and the Trees) and brought children on a journey of sensory exploration and art activities about trees, creating a strong connection with art and nature.
The Creative Cluster project took place across two school years, 2022-2023, involving over 175 children and 8 teachers. Lismore Castle Arts team provided children with art and nature workshops and access to Lismore Castle art gallery and gardens.
Schools participating in the Creative Cluster were Liosmór Mochuda National School, Lismore, Bunscoil Bhothar na Naomh, Lismore, Villierstown National School, Knockanore National School and St. Michael's National School, Ballyduff.
Creative Clusters is a pilot initiative of the Department of Education and Skills, led by and in partnership with the 21 full-time Teacher Education Centres (Education Support Centres Ireland - ESCI) and funded through the Schools Excellence Fund – Creative Clusters Initiative.
