Free public car parking is available in the Lismore Town public car park. From the car park, follow the blue directional signs to the garden entrance, which is approximately 150 metres away.

The route to the entrance includes a slight incline and the surface may be uneven and dusty in places.

Wheeled access is available throughout much of the garden. As this is a historic site, some areas have uneven surfaces and slopes, which may not be suitable for all visitors.

The Lower Garden is accessible only by steps. The Upper Gallery, located within the Main Gallery, is not accessible due to four steps. With the exception of the Upper Gallery, the Main Gallery is accessible.

The café, reading room, and bathrooms are wheelchair and buggy accessible. St Carthage Hall and The Mill are also wheelchair and buggy accessible.

A member of our Visitor Experience Team is always available at the garden entrance, the information desk and café, and in the Main Gallery. They can assist with any aspect of your visit, answer questions, and provide information about our exhibitions and events programme.

Women’s and men’s toilets are located in the Gallery/Café building in the Upper Garden. These facilities are approximately a five-minute walk from the garden entrance and do not require a key or access code.

Dogs are welcome in Lismore Castle Gardens and must be kept on a lead at all times. Dogs are not allowed in gallery spaces. Service, assistance, emotional support, and working dogs in training are permitted in all gallery areas.

Bench seating is available throughout both the Upper and Lower Gardens. Garden tables and chairs are provided on the lawn in front of the Gallery/Café for visitors to use. Covered/indoor seating is available in the Vinery, which is located in the Upper Garden and in the Reading Room, which is located next to the café.

Free Wi-Fi is available in the café. A Visitor Experience Assistant will be happy to help you connect.

You are welcome to enjoy a picnic in Lismore Castle Gardens. We kindly ask that you take all rubbish home when you leave.
