Blawnin Clancy was the recipient of our Stable Yard Studio Award 2022, and was in the studio in Lismore from July to October.
Blawnin Clancy is a practicing visual artist and educator living in Co. Waterford. She was born in New York City and grew up in Los Angeles and An Rinn, Co. Waterford. She attended Crawford College of Art and NCAD Dublin. She is influenced by the natural world: the sea, coastlines, the liminal time of dusk, gloaming, the earth sciences and exploration of the oceans. Her current work focuses on seascape, with a contemporary sublime viewpoint. She has exhibited in the RHA 192nd Annual Exhibition, Dublin, and has in several group and solo shows in Ireland and Northern Ireland. She was recently selected by the Waterford Artist Online Mentoring Scheme to receive fully funded mentoring sessions with Aosdána member, Eamon Colman.
During her time at the Stable Yard Studio, Blawnin produced a new body of work encompassing painting, sculpture and textiles.

*Recipients of the Stable Yard Studio Award receive a free studio space, in addition to mentoring and support from Lismore Castle Arts. Each artist is also awarded a stipend of €300. The studios are non-residential but accessible 7 days per week.
