St Carthage Hall, Lismore Co. Waterford
Saturdays & Sundays, 12 - 5pm, and by appointment.
For St Carthage Hall, Caoimhe Kilfeather has created a new installation. This immersive work is suggestive of a 'new place', a dwelling of ambiguous occupancy. Elements within this new place include the remnants of animal forms, materials that are hewn and polish through geological time and movements, tools used for sifting and sorting as well as discarded by-products of material processes and human production.
Much of Caoimhe Kilfeather's work to date has been informed by ways in which human experience and memory are expressed through ritual and materiality.
Caoimhe Kilfeather is based in Dublin. Her work is held in numerous collections such as the National Gallery of Ireland, Irish Museum of Modern Art, the Arts Council and Office of Public Works. She lectures in Sculpture and Combined Media at the Limerick School of Art and Design.
Selected solo exhibitions include an occasional dream, Oono, Mexico; evening and season and weather and history, Douglas Hyde Gallery, Dublin; this attentive place, Temple Bar Gallery + Studios, Dublin; Before it stirs the surface, Oonagh Young Gallery, Dublin as well as recent group exhibitions including Shaping Ireland, National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin and Shades, Serum, Denmark.
